Integrating the Largest Global Airline with the Future
Datum Software provided system integration services for one of the largest commercial airline in the world.
1. Challenge: Like many organizations, the client had multiple systems built utilizing various technologies and faced the difficulty of integrating them with one another. Datum Software’s team was responsible for designing, developing and sustaining the airline's strategic technology integration initiative. using service oriented architectures (SOA) and web services.
2. Solution: Datum Software built secure web applications using Java/J2EE and C#/.Net framework using data from Oracle 10g/11g databases and system interfaces using WSDL, Web Services, WS-Security, XML, HTML, SOAP, and Tibco Active Matrix as the Enterprise Service Bus (ESB). The system integration work is in compliance with the World Wide Web consortium and Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards. Universal description discovery and integration for enterprise systems was used to dynamically discover and invoke web services. They used TIBCO Services, which provides native support for the registering of standard web services and user credential authentication done through Enterprise Attribute Store (EAS). EAS interfaces with Active Directory Federation Services using Public-Key Infrastructure. Datum Software provided Tier III help desk support by performing modifications to the system in order to accommodate business processes and customer requests.
3. Results: These systems provide real-time operational support to the global users and employees in over 350 airports and office locations in 70 countries on six continents around the world.
