Information System Security Officer (ISSO)

Datum Government Solutions seeks an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to provide cybersecurity and information security services to the United States Air Force (USAF) Air Education and Training Command (AETC) for the Air Force Learning Services Ecosystem (AFLSE) Program Management Office. This is a full-time position located primarily at our customer site at JBSA Randolph, San Antonio, TX. AFLSE is a cloud-based learning ecosystem that will allow Air Force students to learn anywhere, anytime and on any device. The ISSO will work as a member of the AFLSE Security Team to provide support for the AFLSE program through security authorization activities in compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF).

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Apply knowledge of information security services analysis concepts, practices and procedures and executes security procedures for DoD Information Systems
  • Work in conjunction with a multicontractor team in support of cybersecurity, continuous monitoring, and other emerging compliance requirements
  • Identify, manage, verify, and implement cybersecurity requirements and cybersecurity controls, in the same manner as all other system requirements, ensuring traceability
  • Apply current computer science technologies to the development, evaluation, and integration of computer systems and networks to maintain system security posture
  • Work with the AETC RT&E AO Staff to establish and maintain security posture in accordance with applicable statutory, regulatory, and STIG guidance
  • Support all efforts necessary to obtain and maintain Authorization to Operate (ATO)
  • Review and develop any necessary artifacts such as Cybersecurity Impact Analysis, System Security Plans, System Policies test plans required to obtain and maintain the ATO
  • Upload, review, and maintain artifacts in eMASS
  • Implement, test, and continuously monitor cybersecurity controls
  • Advise the AFLSE ISSM on security compliance issues impacting system operations
  • Maintain or develop Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) to resolve, mitigate, and track open vulnerabilities
  • May assist in conducting periodic selfinspections on local processes and practices
  • Perform auditing, vulnerability/risk assessment analysis
  • Assist with the management of security aspects of the information system and perform dayto-day security operations of the system

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field
  • 3+ years of security experience in either the defense industry or Information Systems Security, or a combination of both
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Possess a current DoD 8570.1 IAT Level 2 Certificate such as CCNASecurity, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP
  • Knowledge of information systems security components and best practices including; firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus software, data encryption, and other industry-standard techniques and practices
  • Knowledge of U.S. Government Information System security standards (i.e. NIST and ISO27)
  • Knowledge of the Risk Management Framework
  • Experience with Security Directives, Policies, Publications and Regulations including but not limited to the NIST 800171, NIST 800-53, JSIG and/or ICD 503
  • Experience with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
  • Experience with Federal Risk and Authorization management Program (FedRAMP)
  • Experience working in a fastpaced and highly collaborative environment
  • Expert analytical, written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Expert in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Access and Word)
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a government led MultiFunctional Team (MFT)
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work within a team and independently

 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Program Manager.
