It is an IT Technical Manager role with leadership and managing as the biggest part.

No specific technical skills…experience with leading technical teams. Aws experience is a plus.

As the  IT Software Engineering Manager you will manager a specific piece of an  IT portfolio, you will lead a team of dynamic Software Engineers to build, integrate, and implement airport technology.
This proven leader will bring innovative, thoughtful, and industry leading solutions to drive enterprise strategic initiatives, promote efficiencies and enhance customer and employee experience.
This role will partner with teams across the company and we are looking for an experienced and passionate engineering manager to bring leadership, technical expertise, mentorship, and a focus on results in a fast paced and changing environment.

This is what you will be doing:

  • Lead technical teams
    • Strong leadership ability with a track record of developing people and achieving challenging objectives
    • Thought leader on technical issues, stays ahead of technical developments in field; knows what new technologies will help the business
    • Lead team efforts, delegating tasks, following up on progress of the team
    • Manage all aspects (including coaching, providing direction, staffing, delivering reviews, setting aligned objectives, time reporting, etc.) of direct reports overall performance
    • Ensure any new projects allocated are professionally defined with particular emphasis on risk assessment, work break-down structure, scheduling, and resources
    • Encourage creative mindset and find ways to nurture innovative thinking
  • Deliver with Quality and Speed
    • Lead teams to implement airport solutions associated with the technical designs for product/project teams
    • Interact with business and product owners, understanding the product and business domain to engineer solutions that create a competitive advantage
    • Collaborate with business to identify, optimize, and engineer solutions that improve employee and customer experiences
    • Promote the analysis and implementation of Performance/Stability/Reliability imitative and technical debt resolution, prevention & code reviews
    • Production issue triage, management, and prevention as needed
  • Communicate effectively
    • Strong technical and non-technical communication skills. Participate and coach in a stand up and be able to interact with business partners and cross functional IT leadership
    • Fosters open communication by encouraging the expression of ideas and opinions. Assures smooth flowing, timely transmission of critical information. Oral and written communication is well organized, clear, accurate, grammatically correct, and is adapted for the target audience. Listens to others. Seeks clarification and confirms shared understanding when communicating
  • Being Strategic and Innovative
    • Sees ahead clearly; can anticipate future consequences and trends accurately; has broad knowledge and perspective
    • Sees around corners and down the roadmap; anticipate future consequences for immediate technical choices and keep up with industry trends; have a broad knowledge and perspective for the long term
    • Driving the automation journey for the teams in order to empower capacity for innovation, and spearheading that innovation for customer outcomes


  • 6+ years of work experience in Software Engineering
  • Familiarity with Mobile technologies a plus
  • Experience with cloud target operating models
  • Experience developing and supporting business-critical applications
  • Knowledge of Software Development – Agile methodology, test driven development, CICD automation, information security
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to manage and develop team members
  • Strong inter-personal and partnership skills to work across divisions and external stakeholders
  • Must have problem-solving skills and be solutions oriented
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal, including presentation
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking and styles


  • Experience in the Airline/Airport domain a plus
